The August Mixer held on Thursday, August 25 at Reno's (East) was a success as the MITN community came together to network over some pizza and drinks. Thanks to all the people who came out and enjoyed networking with other IT people in Lansing.

MITN Membership

One thing we did this meeting was promote our awsome MITN memberships. MITN Memberships are a great way to help our organization fund some of the great things we do in the community like sponsoring Givecamp. We also can use the money for operational costs and are able to improve the quality of our events. Memberships are $25 per year for an individual and there are Corporate Memberships starting at $125 per year. Check out our membership options, value, and register online.

Workforce Development

The Workforce Development Committee brought a booth full of information about the IT Career Landscape in Lansing. Many people stopped by and found this information helpful. This is another value we hope to bring through our MITN events.

LCC IT Speed Networking

In addition, we learned about a great IT Networking Event right here at Lansing Community College on September 30. This is the first "IT Speed Networking" event and helps connect IT professionals with students to learn about various careers in IT. LCC is looking for IT professionals to volunteer for this activity and share your career with those eager to learn, please contact Lois McIntosh at mcint22@lcc.edu if this interests you.
